Daniel Moroko negotiated the land deal for the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Tamworth, New South Wales. His contribution underscores the collaborative efforts among stakeholders to advance renewable energy initiatives and bolster grid infrastructure in the region, with this project alone aiming to power up to 35,000 homes.

The Tamworth site was chosen following a thorough evaluation of electricity supply and demand throughout NSW, incorporating an analysis of the Australian Energy Market Operator’s Integrated System Plan and anticipated future demand. The company intends to use the site for grid stabilisation and storage purposes.

The NSW government’s plan to replace coal with renewable energy sources is driving competition among developers for grid space, with multiple battery projects competing for space near connection points, aiming to minimise their connection points and capitalise on grid advantages.
